watahashi yasumi

Introduced in Volume 10. A freshman who is chosen as the sixth member of the SOS Brigade. She was the only one to successfully pass the "tests" set by Haruhi. An extremely enthusiastic member, all the other members are amazed at her ability to keep up with Haruhi's demanding pace. She briefly joins the brigade in the tenth novel, introducing herself as a first-year student at North High. However, she is actually a literal deus ex machina, created by Haruhi to prevent Sasaki from interacting with Kyon. Once the crisis is resolved, she disappears from existence, with Haruhi believing she was a middle school student who had sneaked into the brigade.
