Yakumo is known for being skilled, dependable, intelligent, and beautiful, making her one of the most admired girls at school. Despite her popularity, she has never had a boyfriend. This is primarily because she can easily discern the hidden intentions of any boy who tries to get close to her. The only exception is Harima, whose heart is fully devoted to another girl, rendering his thoughts unreadable to Yakumo.
Although she is the younger sister in the Tsukamoto family, Yakumo takes on most of the household chores. She is also a member of the Tea Club.
Over time, Yakumo develops a strong friendship with Harima, who trusts her to critique his manga drafts and keep his hobby a secret. Eventually, she begins assisting him with the actual inking of his pages, leading to many hours spent together alone. Through this collaboration, Yakumo's feelings for Harima deepen beyond a simple master-apprentice relationship. However, she keeps these feelings hidden, knowing that Harima is in love with her sister.
