Xanxus is the current leader of Vongola's elite assassination squad, Varia, and is the adopted son of Vongola IX.
He possesses the same Dying Will Flames as the Vongola's second boss, known as the Flames of Wrath, and wields the same type of weapon as the seventh boss, the Dying Will Gun. Xanxus demonstrated his ability to use these flames even as a child, showcasing his natural talent.
His mother, who suffered from mental illness, believed that Xanxus was the son of Timoteo, the current Vongola boss, due to his exceptional abilities. After a confrontation between Xanxus's mother and Timoteo, Xanxus was adopted into the Vongola family and cherished by Timoteo as if he were his own son.
Growing up with a nearly royal status within the family, Xanxus developed an egoistical, vain, and cocky personality, traits that persisted throughout the series.
Xanxus's face is marked with numerous scars. He also has spiky hair and wears the Varia uniform jacket draped over his shoulders. The jacket is adorned with feathers and a raccoon tail that extends from the nape of his neck, over his left shoulder, and rests in the front.
