In Cardcaptor Sakura
Touya is the older brother of Sakura Kinomoto. Born on February 29th, he is a leap year baby who can only celebrate his birthday once every four years. He believes that as Sakura's older brother, he has the exclusive right to tease her, a notion his best friend Yukito Tsukishiro refers to as a "sister complex." Despite this, Touya is protective and caring towards Sakura. This leads him to dislike Syaoran Li when he sees Syaoran cornering Sakura at school. Even after Syaoran and Sakura become friends, Touya continues to be wary of him, fearing that Syaoran will take Sakura away from him.
Touya is perceptive and has a vague understanding of Sakura's activities as a Cardcaptor, despite her efforts to keep it a secret. His main relationship is with his best friend Yukito, with whom he shares an extremely close bond. After Touya saves Yukito's life, Yukito confesses his love for Touya to Sakura. Touya was born with some magical abilities, enabling him to see ghosts, including that of his late mother. These abilities also help him sense when Sakura is in danger or performing magic, allowing him to follow her discreetly.

Touya is the current king of Clow Country and behaves similarly to his character in Cardcaptor Sakura.
