yagari tooga

The top-ranked vampire hunter, Tooga Yagari, previously trained Zero to become a vampire hunter. He lost his right eye while attempting to rescue Zero from a Level E vampire many years ago. Yagari made an appearance at Cross Academy, serving briefly as a Night Class teacher to assess whether Zero posed a danger. He also showed up briefly in volume five, visibly shocked by the council's decision to punish Zero.

Yagari revealed that the Level E vampire he had killed to save Zero, which resulted in the loss of his right eye, was actually his fiancée.
