Tamago Onsen, literally meaning "Hot Springs Egg" and also known as Tama-chan, is a flying turtle featured in the Love Hina series. Tama-chan was given to Keitaro by Mutsumi as a gift.
Although Keitaro notes that the turtle is male, the girls are convinced it is female and thus refer to Tama-chan as 'she' throughout the manga. She is an 'onsen kame' or hot-springs turtle, similar to others of her species. Su, Mutsumi, Seta, and later in the series, Keitaro, seem to have the ability to communicate with Tama-chan. Su occasionally expresses a desire to eat her, though this is sometimes just to tease Shinobu. In the manga, it is mentioned in a side note that Su stops this habit to wait for Tama-chan to reproduce.
