Takeshi is Daisuke's best friend at school and the son of Police Inspector Saehara, who is tasked with pursuing Dark under the orders of Hiwatari Satoshi. Known for his comedic antics, Takeshi is energetic, friendly, and somewhat impolite and unreliable. He is an eager reporter who leverages his father's connections to his advantage, though his methods are often hasty and criticized by Hiwatari as ineffective. Takeshi frequently offloads his responsibilities, like homework and cleanup duties, onto Daisuke so he can leave early to capture good photos of Dark.
In the anime, Takeshi uses photos as a form of bribery. He trades pictures of Dark with girls in exchange for copies of their notes and offers Daisuke photos of Risa Harada in a bikini in return for Daisuke cleaning the art room for him.
