Kumagami serves as Ota's backup and steps in as Kanuka's replacement after she returns to New York. She was the top of her class and is an outstanding police officer. Despite being courted by several police agencies, she ultimately chose the SV2 due to the challenge it offered. Kumagami appears very level-headed and nothing seems to rattle her, though her colleagues' antics occasionally irritate her. She has an irrational fear of the supernatural, especially ghosts, stemming from her childhood when her father's interest in the topic exposed her to many ghost stories.
