yamazaki takashi

Takashi Yamazaki is a student in Sakura Kinomoto's class and the only male student named before Syaoran Li's introduction. Named after film director Takashi Yamazaki, a friend of CLAMP, the series creators, his defining trait is fabricating detailed fake stories on almost any topic. While most classmates see through these tales, Sakura and Syaoran often believe them. When Eriol Hiiragizawa appears in the series' second half, he becomes Yamazaki's storytelling partner, seamlessly building complex narratives together. Chiharu Mihara, a fellow classmate, frequently interrupts Yamazaki’s stories to reveal his lies and punishes him by pretending to strangle him or dragging him away by his collar. Despite their apparent arguments, they are actually a couple who have known each other since kindergarten. She is the only girl he addresses by her first name. Although often joking, Yamazaki shows a serious side, such as attempting to save Rika from drowning and giving Chiharu space when Sakura needed support. In the anime adaptation, Yamazaki is rarely shown with his eyes open, and his relationship with Chiharu is more ambiguous. During the Judgment scene, when Sakura sees a world where everyone loses their feelings for their loved ones, Yamazaki and Chiharu become strangers. In the Cardcaptors English adaptation, Yamazaki is renamed Zachary Marker, and hints of his relationship with Chiharu are removed. Instead, they are portrayed as cousins, and Chiharu’s playful strangling is depicted as sibling rivalry. Yamazaki is voiced by Issei Miyazaki in the anime and by Philip Pacaud in Cardcaptors. In the English dub of the second film, he is voiced by Joshua Seth. (Source: Wikipedia)
