Taiki is Nakatsu's roommate with the ability to see ghosts and detect auras. He frequently provides Nakatsu with aura reports and is also passionate about yoga. When he first arrived at Osaka High, he faced teasing from others because of his ESP abilities. However, Nakatsu considers him a close friend.
In volume 4, it is mentioned that Kayashima derived his name from "Kayashima Station," a railway station on the Keihan Main Line. It is noted that many workers were injured during the construction of the station due to a large tree that was initially planned to be cut down. The tree was eventually preserved, and the station was built around it. Interestingly, "Taiki" translates to "large tree."
