Sumomo is a mobile persocom, which is the equivalent of a laptop computer in the persocom world. She is programmed to be adorable and tends to be very energetic, as shown by her morning 'wakey-wakey exercises'.

In the beginning of the series, Shinbo uses Sumomo to analyze Chi, nearly breaking her in the process. This results in Sumomo needing new main memory, and in the manga, a new video card as well. Once Kotoko joins Hideki, she quickly concludes that Sumomo is crazy due to her nonsensical behavior.

Sumomo's password after being received by Hideki is "Chobits" (case sensitive) and "ちょびっツ" (case sensitive because of the katakana at the end).
