sugino

Sugino is a white tengu and the "god" of Sugino Village, often referred to as Sugino-sama. Unlike black tengus, who are born as such, white tengus were once powerful and overly-proud human priests or monks who transformed into tengus. Before Kantarou attempted it, Sugino tried to break Haruka's seal but failed.

Sugino harbors a strong dislike for humans, despite having been one himself. He is married to Muu-chan, a small, green youkai. When asked about their reproduction, Sugino clarifies that their relationship is platonic. Before meeting Muu-chan, Sugino was known for his cruelty and earned the nickname 'violent tengu'. His harshness led to loneliness and a hatred of his immortality.
