Shidoh is a Shinigami whose Death Note is stolen by Ryuk. Ryuk takes Shidoh's Note and gives it to Light, which eventually becomes Higuchi's note and is later passed on to Mello's gang, specifically to Mello's subordinate, Kal Snyder, also known as Jack Neylon. Shidoh has a strong fondness for chocolate. Due to neglecting his duty to kill people and extend his own lifespan, Shidoh likely did not notice the theft of his Note. As his lifespan dwindles, Shidoh locates Ryuk and learns that Mello possesses his Note. He then finds Snyder in the human world. To reclaim his Note, Shidoh agrees to assist Mello's gang against the SPK and Light. After Light regains the Death Note from Mello, he returns it to Shidoh to stop his interference and send him back to the Shinigami world. Although these events span about one volume in the manga, Shidoh only appears in two episodes of the anime (episode 28, where he is briefly introduced, and episode 29, which covers most of the events of Shidoh's recovery of his Death Note).
Shidoh's name is spelled "Shidoh" in "Death Note: How to Read 13," but it is written as "Sidoh" both in the tankōbon character introductions page and within the translated English manga.
