Shenhua is a Taiwanese assassin employed by Mr. Chang. She favors utilizing various edged weapons in close combat, especially a pair of kukri knives connected by a leather rope at the handles. Shenhua is also adept with throwing knives. She shares a professional rivalry with Revy, having both cooperated and clashed with her on different occasions. Her personal faith is Taoism. One of her most distinctive characteristics is her fractured speech pattern, constantly shifting between Chinese and English, reminiscent of Shampoo from Ranma 1/2.
It remains unclear whether Shenhua possesses any unarmed hand-to-hand combat skills, though it seems probable. Throughout the anime, she exclusively fights with blades and never engages in true hand-to-hand combat.
