Revy, sometimes referred to by her full name Rebecca, is the female protagonist of the series. She handles most of the combat for the Lagoon Company. Her past remains largely a mystery, though fragments can be pieced together throughout the series. Revy is a Chinese-American born and raised in Manhattan's Chinatown near Mott Street, spending much of her youth as a thief and murderer. Flashbacks reveal that she may have honed her firearm skills by shooting cans, and her first murder might have involved shooting an unknown man using a pillow.
The man shot was Revy's father, as she had grown tired of him. Revy is highly competitive, easily bored, and extremely short-tempered. Unlike Rock, she believes in brute force and coercion. Contrary to this tough exterior, she is revealed to be highly ticklish. Revy is a merciless and sadistic killer without a conscience, willing to kill anyone at the slightest provocation, even unarmed civilians. Dutch once compared her to Charles Whitman after she slaughtered the crew of a Neo-Nazi boat. She threatened Rock with death if he ever questioned her way of life. Revy uses the most foul language among the characters and takes glee in killing.
She has a volatile attitude towards Rock; while she respects him later, she is mostly hostile. She once shot at Rock point-blank but missed due to his quick reflexes. Despite this, she tends to save Rock from critical situations and considers him family to Balalaika. It’s possible she has feelings for Rock based on her reactions to Eda's teasing, which seem like jealousy.
CIA agents mentioned Revy's notoriety with the NYPD, particularly the 27th Precinct, which doesn't exist in real-life New York City. This could hint at a connection to Dick Wolf's Law and Order franchise. Revy is one of the deadliest fighters in the series, with almost superhuman skill in firearms and dodging bullets. Few characters, such as Roberta and Ginji, can match her in combat.
Her weapons of choice are modified Beretta 92FSs, made of stainless steel with extended barrels and adapted for silencers. They are engraved with "9mm Sword Cutlass" and the Jolly Roger of Calico Jack. Due to her ambidextrous marksmanship, she is nicknamed "Two Hand." Revy lives on the edge, developing a bleak, almost nihilistic outlook, relying only on her own power, skills, and money. She does not believe in God or emotions but seems to trust her companions.
