During the Dark Continent Expedition arc, Chrollo uses his Black Voice ability in a fight with Hisoka, suggesting that Shalnark lent him this ability. In chapter 357, Shalnark is seen on the phone with Chrollo, discussing their plan to travel to the Dark Continent with Kakin and steal valuables from the Royal Princes. After expressing excitement about the Troupe reuniting after a long time, he notices that Kortopi has been in the nearby bathroom for an unusually long time. When he goes to check on Kortopi, he finds Hisoka, who throws Kortopi’s severed head at him. Shocked, Shalnark cries out and is killed by Hisoka moments later.
