Sana Kurata is an 11-year-old child actress in the 6th grade and the main star of the popular TV show "Child's Toy." Sana is a natural leader who is curious, stubborn, and loves helping others with their problems. She is always cheerful, talkative, and full of energy. Her family includes her mother, Misako Kurata, a famous author, and Rei, whom she took in as her manager.
At school, Sana becomes rivals with Akito Hayama, a boy who leads other boys in causing chaos in the classroom. She tries various ways to outsmart Akito so that the boys stop disrupting lessons but eventually befriends him as she learns more about his past.
Throughout the story, it is revealed that Sana was adopted by Misako and her birth mother is Keiko Sakai. In the manga, Sana develops a psychological condition called "Doll Syndrome" as a child, which causes her emotions to disappear temporarily.
Later in the series, Sana realizes she has fallen in love with Akito Hayama, a revelation that comes during a night with Asako.
In a 2009 one-shot manga called "Deep Clear," Sana is 26 years old, married to Akito, and expecting their child. She gives birth to a daughter named Sari.
