In the manga, he was part of the team alongside Ryu and Kei. It was he who uncovered the Spy and made an attempt on his life.
Despite this, the Spy survived their confrontation. They encountered each other once more in the underground facility where Akira was being held, engaging in a fight to the death. Ultimately, the intense cold emanating from Akira's cryogenic chamber reached them, leading to their demise.
