Driven by a desire to understand the meaning of his sin, he joins Pandora under Break's supervision. Flashbacks reveal his childhood efforts to earn praise and recognition from his father, only to find out that his father despised him to the extent of avoiding physical contact. This revelation led Oz to believe nothing in life is guaranteed, and he felt weak, opting to remain obedient to prevent harm. Oz travels into the Cheshire Cat's realm and meets Jack Vessalius, becoming his "medium." Publicly hailed as a "hero," Oz learns he can swap consciousness with Jack and occasionally see fragments of Jack's memories. He is skilled with a sword for self-defense but lacks real combat experience. Oz has a fondness for cute, younger girls and often flirts with them. Initially, he expressed a wish to marry Sharon upon meeting her. In chapter 20, Oz refers to Alice as "my most precious Alice," though it's unclear if these sentiments are his own or Jack's. Oz's body isn't originally his but belongs to Jack Vessalius, who had regressed to infancy. Oz's true form consists of two living stuffed rabbits created unintentionally by Lacie. One rabbit resided in the Abyss with the Intention of the Abyss, while the other lived outside with Alice. After Jack lied to the Intention of the Abyss, she asked Oz to guide him to her. Agreeing, Oz traveled through one of the Doors of the Abyss. Jack then requested an illegal contract, which Oz reluctantly accepted. Forced to sever the Chains of the World, Oz caused the Tragedy of Sablier. As everyone was pulled into the Abyss, Jack remained unaffected, his body freezing at his age and slowly destroying his mind while preserving Oz's dormant consciousness. Years later, with Jack's mind deteriorating and body regressing, he approached Zai Vessalius, who took him in as his son without knowing his true nature. With Jack's mind shattered and body infantile, Oz gained full control over the body, albeit without any memories of the past.
