Miranda Barma was the heir of the Barma family. She orchestrated the Tragedy of Sablier. When Glen Baskerville, no longer human, needed a new body, he chose Gilbert as the ideal candidate. His plan was to sacrifice Gilbert to the Abyss and take over his body, with Raven serving as the chain instead of Jabberwocky. Miranda found Vincent grieving over the impending loss of his brother and knew how much Vincent would be willing to do to save Gilbert. She approached Vincent and taught him how to open the gateway to the Abyss. After she left, Vincent completed the ritual and prevented Raven from transferring into Gilbert's body by opening the Abyss. When the door opened, she was seen at the Baskerville mansion, where Jack and a Baskerville guard questioned her about her presence. Shortly before this, Glen had threatened Jack due to lingering anger over Lacie being offered to the Abyss, and he sent the remaining Baskervilles (Lotti, Doug, Fang, Lily) to kill everyone in Sablier. However, because Miranda did not tell Vincent how to close the door to the Abyss, when everyone rushed to save Sablier, they were all dragged into the Abyss. It is speculated that Miranda was also pulled into the Abyss since she has not been seen since then. Eventually, after time passed in the Abyss, she transformed into Demios or "The Queen of Hearts," as both share a penchant for cutting off people's heads. (Source: Pandora Hearts Wikia)
