A 16-year-old high school student, Natsumi was initially a client of Ban and Ginji at the start of the anime. She later began working part-time as a waitress at the Honky Tonk. In the series, she displays exceptional ping-pong skills and even takes on one of the Get Backers' clients when they are occupied with another case. Despite her limited abilities in areas other than table tennis, shogi, and cooking, she once dressed up in an outfit combining Ban’s shirt and glasses with Ginji’s pants and gloves for a mission.
Natsumi can be considered the Get Backers' unofficial groupie, showing great devotion to Ban and Ginji. She often worries about their well-being and stays late at the Honky Tonk to welcome them back from missions. This dedication is also depicted in the music video of the first ending theme, where she waits for them on a rainy day while they are out getting groceries. The song in the MV is performed by Otoha, who voices Natsumi in the anime.
In a curious case of life imitating art, Natsumi teamed up with Emishi on a retrieval mission in one episode, wearing the aforementioned outfit. Interestingly, Otoha, the voice actress for Natsumi, later married a comedian.
