Naozumi is a child actor, just like Sana, and they share a similar past. He has been following Sana since she was five years old and has compiled extensive photo albums filled with newspaper clippings, magazine articles, pictures, and interviews about her. All the girls in Sana's class have huge crushes on him, and almost every girl in the country admires him. People often describe him as a "pretty boy" or bishounen, meaning he is extremely handsome and charming. Naozumi is deeply infatuated with Sana. He has stalked her since she was five and knows almost everything about her. As Naozumi poses a threat to Sana and Hayama's relationship, he becomes Hayama's rival. Sana doesn't realize his feelings for her and assumes he's just a fan when he confesses his love. On the surface, Naozumi appears to be a proper and nice guy, but internally, he is ambitious and possessive. He openly expresses his love for Sana, often going into a daze where he mumbles about his feelings for her. Naozumi and Sana travel to New York City to perform in a Broadway musical. During this trip, Naozumi unexpectedly meets both of his birth parents. The trauma from these encounters brings them closer together. Over time, they start dating. However, upon returning home, Naozumi realizes that Sana still loves Akito. At the end of the series, Naozumi makes the difficult decision to give up his love for Sana but remains her loyal friend. In the manga "Deep Clear," a crossover between "Kodomo no Omocha" and "Honey Bitter," it is revealed that Naozumi could not love any other girl after Sana. He is currently living with his boyfriend.
