Naomi is a former FBI agent who was engaged to Raye Penber. Following Raye's death, she embarks on a mission to find his killer.
Misora joined the FBI in September 2001 and quickly rose through the ranks to become a special agent, an unusual feat for a female employee. On August 22, 2002, she apprehended the perpetrator of the "Los Angeles BB Serial Murder Case." In October 2003, Misora left the FBI and became engaged to Raye Penber. The couple planned to marry, move to the United States, and start a family.
Before his death, Raye warned Naomi in his hotel room not to get too involved in his investigation, as they had traveled to Japan to meet her parents and he was concerned about her safety.
She suspects that Kira was the last suspect Raye had been following and believes that Kira can kill people using methods other than heart attacks.
