A loyal servant of Nobunaga and the keeper of Sakamoto Castle, Mitsuhide is a reflective individual with balanced political opinions and an open-minded nature. He is a dedicated husband to his wife Hiroko and a loving father to their daughter Tama. His eyesight is deteriorating, causing him significant concern. When Usagi prepares a remedy to enhance his vision, Mitsuhide comes to understand that not all ninja are malevolent. He discreetly aids the Iga ninja but is ultimately uncovered by Ranmaru. Mitsuhide is compelled to lead the assault on Iga, and due to Ranmaru's manipulations, he falls out of favor with Nobunaga. This prompts Mitsuhide to rebel against Nobunaga as an act of vengeance for Hiroko, who took her own life hoping it would atone for Mitsuhide's perceived offense against Nobunaga. Although it is believed that Mitsuhide perished during the attack after being captured by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's troops, he continues to live in secret as a monk named Tenkai alongside Ieyasu.
