She is a quiet, good-natured girl who lacks confidence and appears to fear her coach, Barthez. Initially taught by her coach that winning at any cost is essential, she later realizes that how you play the game truly matters. Mathilda looks up to Miguel as their leader and shows him great respect. Although she is generally quiet with a timid voice throughout the show, she gives her all during Beyblade matches.
Mathilda's bitbeast is Pierce Hedgehog. However, her Beyblade was destroyed when Coach Barthez decided to demolish it during her match against Daichi Sumeragi. Her attack move is called Poison Needle, and her Beyblade combines Attack, Defense, and Endurance. During her matches, when she launches her Poison Needle, she seems to grow butterfly wings, contrasting with her bitbeast's hedgehog form.
Despite sensing something was wrong with Barthez, she continued to follow his orders out of fear. When Miguel and other team members start standing up to Barthez, Mathilda begins to think for herself. She also serves as the unofficial little sister to her teammates.
One of Mathilda's cheating tactics involves destroying her own Beyblade during battles.
