Prince of the small kingdom of Aritia and the main character of the Fire Emblem OVA (as well as the first Fire Emblem game, whose plot the OVA describes). His character class is Lord. His name has been translated in various ways, including "Mars" and "Matus," but "Marth" is the official translation by Nintendo of America. The OVA used "Mars." His hair is blue because, in the game, allied units are colored blue, and his hair color was chosen to match. In Fire Emblem Engage, Marth is one of the twelve Emblems of Elyos. Marth's Ring of the Hero-King was placed on Alear's hand while they slept for 1000 years. After Alear's awakening, they are attacked by malevolent forces on their way to Lythos Castle. Desiring to protect Clanne and Framme, Alear invokes the power of the Ring, summoning Marth to engage with them, allowing them to defeat the Corrupted.
