She is Soul's meister. She tends to be the more composed one between the two, but when her temper flares up, she can be quite firm. While Soul appears to be the muscle, Maka represents the brains of their duo. She constantly strategizes ways to defeat their adversaries by capitalizing on their weaknesses. Her father currently serves as the Death Scythe for Lord Death. Despite his constant flirtations with other women, which she detests, she still holds affection for him. Her mother was also a scythe technician; they are now divorced. Maka seems frustrated that her body hasn't matured yet, a recurring joke in the series. She often punts Soul whenever he acts perverted or gets too friendly with Blair. Dr. Stein examined her soul and described her as a "serious person who puts in great effort."
Currently, she is a Two-Star Meister and has successfully created a Death Scythe. She is part of an elite unit known as Spartoi.
In the anime only, during the final episode, the Kishin hinted that Maka actually possesses weapon blood due to her father, but she chose to become a meister instead.
