Madoka Kugimiya is the most serious among the three cheerleaders in her class. She ensures that her fellow cheerleaders, particularly Sakurako, avoid any trouble. Madoka enjoys gyuudon and silver accessories and has a general interest in Western music, currently being a fan of Avril Lavigne. However, she dislikes playboys and is quite preoccupied with her distinctive husky voice. Her surname often becomes the subject of nicknames, which she finds irritating.
During the school festival, she develops a small crush on Kotarou's teenage form. She is very protective of her friends, especially Ako, whom she encourages to be more confident. Ironically, during the Live Mahora Concert, Madoka pushed Ako to confess her love for "Nagi" (teenage Negi) in front of an audience, nearly causing Ako to be shot.
