Luida is the leader of the floating colony.
In Trigun Maximum, she and other colony members took Vash in after discovering him lost in the desert, missing his left arm, which had been severed by Knives during their initial encounter. Upon learning about their origins and the unfolding events, Luida and her community allied with Vash to thwart Knives' extermination scheme. However, following numerous setbacks, Vash opted to handle the situation independently. Respecting his choice, the colony supplied him with essential gear, ranging from his iconic red coat to the prosthetic for his left arm. Despite his decision, Luida remains ever-ready to assist Vash in any way possible.
In Trigun Stampede, the narrative remains largely unchanged, though now Luida is investigating the capabilities of Plants to enrich the barren soil of No Man's Land.
