He is the brains behind the Bladebreakers team, the heroes of the series. Known as a self-proclaimed nerd, he would happily take a janitor's job just to be around high-class instruments and computers. He is also referred to as "Chief." Later in the series, his real name is revealed (in the Japanese version) by his mother. His actual name is Manabu Saien (才媛マナブ Saien Manabu); all his friends call him Professor. Only a few characters in the anime refer to him by his real name, such as his parents or DJ Blader in some episodes. Kenny had a crush on Ming-Ming during G-Revolution.
Kenny handles beyblade upgrades and repairs for the team. He usually doesn't participate in Beybattles but has a beyblade that jumps when activated. In the first season, he battles Kai with a different beyblade. His beyblade in V-Force is named "Einstein," and in G-Revolution, he uses "Hopper." In the English dub of the first two seasons of the anime, Kenny's laptop contains a female bit-beast called Dizzi, added to replace Kenny's regular laptop screen. Since Kenny didn't use his laptop much in the third season, keeping Dizzi in the show became impractical, and she was removed. To avoid confusion due to Dizzi's removal, Hopper's bit-beast (which showed a frog wearing Kenny's glasses) was either blanked out or the scene cut whenever the anime focused on the blade itself.
