Kite is the first Hunter introduced in the story. He is a disciple of Ging Freecss, Gon's father. After rescuing Gon from a foxbear on Whale Island, Kite revealed the truth about his father to him. Before departing, Kite left Ging's Hunter License with Gon. After leaving Greed Island, Gon encounters Kite again while Kite is conducting a zoological survey in search of new species in the country of Kakin. At that time, he was leading a team of young aspiring Hunters, seven children named Banana Kavaro, Lin Koshi, Monta Yuras, Podungo Lapoy, Spinner Clow, and Stick Dinner. Kite is killed by Neferpitou but is later reconstructed into a manipulated puppet to train the ants. He is eventually captured by Knuckle and Shoot. It is later revealed that Kite has been reborn as Meruem's younger sister, retaining all of his memories.
