Kaede Nagase is a fictional character from the manga series, Negima! Magister Negi Magi. She is student number twenty-one in Negi Springfield's class. Kaede practices ninjutsu, a Japanese martial art. She trains in the mountains and can use various ninja abilities, including creating clones. Her demeanor is laid-back, often keeping her eyes nearly shut, similar to Mitsune Konno from Akamatsu's earlier work, Love Hina. She only opens one or both eyes in special circumstances.
Kaede is also known as the blue Baka Ranger, part of a group of five girls with the lowest grade averages in the class, as depicted in the anime adaptation.
