In every arc, he ends up being the victim killed by Oyashiro-sama's curses on the night of the Festival. During the Festival, he appears alive and happy, but his manner of death shows that he tore at his own throat with his fingers. Baffled police autopsies reveal no trace of drugs that could have caused such a mad act. He also has a good partnership with Takano Miyo, who is also a 'victim' of the yearly curses. It is revealed in the "Kai" arc that he has affections for Takano, and she plays along with his attraction to her. He works for a military organization as a lieutenant and is responsible for allocating the budget provided for Takano's research. He gives a false laugh when trying to avoid a question or when told a foreboding prophecy about himself but seems willing to help Takano uncover the mystery behind Oyashiro-sama's curses. Not much else is known about his personality.
