A pilot who once flew at Area 88. He returns because he was hired by Kanzaki to kill Shin. He takes advantage of the chaos caused by the battle with the Wolf Pack to attempt Shin's assassination. However, during his mission, a seagull strikes his cockpit, leading to a loss of control and ultimately his death. Shin manages to bail out from his plane and survives. Charlie appears in both the manga and the OVA. In the OVA English dub, he is referred to as Phoenix Charlie. Some elements of his character are combined with those of Rocky to create Makoto Shingo in the 2004 TV series. In the Eclipse comic, he is known as "Killer Charlie" and dies while dogfighting with Shin. (Source: Wikipedia)
