It remains unclear if Fumihiro has a background in street racing or how he initially connected with Ryousuke and the RedSuns. His personal car, a silver Toyota SW20, is only seen once during a daytime meeting with Keisuke Takahashi and does not appear at any races. During Project D's events, Fumihiro usually drives the Number 1 van. In the fourth stage, Keisuke gives him the nickname "Shiko."
