A doctor rescued Shogo from the police and brought him to her mountain home. She trains him to become a marathon runner, hoping this will heal his heart. Over time, she finds herself falling in love with him. Her ex-husband makes several attempts to win her back, but she ultimately saves Shogo from falling off a cliff. During this rescue, she falls down the mountainside and loses her sight. Shortly before she dies, she confesses her feelings to Shogo.
In the final pages of chapter five, it is revealed that she appears as the Goddess in Shogo's visions.
