A tomboyish teenage girl has suffered from constant headaches since birth, frequently visiting the nurse's office. This led her peers to believe she was avoiding responsibilities, resulting in bullying and trauma, making her reluctant to attend high school. Her parents' subsequent indifference pushed her to run away. She encountered Jin in the slums where she sought refuge. When Jin rescued her from a homicidal Crab Player, he offered her a place to live and the chance to become part of his family. She soon developed romantic feelings for him. Later, she narrowly escaped an assault by the Cockroach Player, thanks to the timely intervention of the Shrimp Player's call and a group of Sweepers. When Jin asked if she wanted to live separately, she became emotional but was reassured by Jin's promise to protect her, leading her to stay. They eventually became intimate, and Jin seemed to return her affections. However, Jin persuaded her to return home temporarily until they could establish their own residence. Before leaving, she sent her full name to Jin, who began calling her Hanako, despite her dislike of the name. During a Christmas Eve date, a Sweeper attacked Jin, causing him to transform in front of her, which terrified her. Due to losing consciousness, Jin believed either the Sweeper or he himself had killed her. It was later revealed that after the attack, she was kidnapped by Seiji and held hostage during an assault on Amagi Corp.
