Halle Lidner, whose real name is Halle Bullook, is part of Near's investigative team, working alongside Gevanni and Rester. She previously served as a CIA agent.
In the manga, Lidner has connections with Mello and leaks information from the SPK to him, unbeknownst to Near. When questioned by Mello about her allegiance, she states that she supports neither side specifically but aids both in their pursuit of Kira. Later, she informs Mello about Near's plan involving Mikami writing names in the Death Note, leading Mello to respond, "I'm the only one who can do it." This revelation motivates Mello to kidnap Takada, ultimately saving both investigation teams.
Mikami uses his Shinigami eyes to see her real name, Halle Bullook, and writes her name along with other SPK members' names in his Death Note. However, she survives because the notebook used was fake.
