Gray the Ninelives is a formidable member and powerhouse of the Gung-Ho-Guns. Boasting immense strength, his armor is exceptionally durable, combining metal and flesh. Despite his considerable size, Gray demonstrates remarkable agility.
In the first anime adaptation, Gray appears as a humanoid cyborg equipped with various concealed weapons within his body. His brain is strategically located in his hips, enabling him to control his legs even if separated from his upper body. In this version, Gray remains silent but emits eerie sounds and laughs menacingly at Wolfwood during their confrontation.
In the manga, Gray the Ninelives is depicted as a towering 7-foot-5-inch muscular humanoid cyborg, clad in either black leather or a makeshift vinyl jumpsuit adorned with studs or bearings. His lipless mouth has a mostly vertical orientation and features small, thin teeth. When stretched, his head and neck bear a resemblance to a snake or worm. During his battle with Wolfwood, he wields large gauntlets equipped with built-in grenade launchers. Displaying near-indestructibility, he easily withstands continuous machine-gun fire from Wolfwood's Punisher. Eventually, Wolfwood destroys him with a rocket, revealing that Gray consists of nine dwarfs operating a bio-mechanical suit from within, allowing them to continue fighting until all are eliminated.
In Trigun Stampede, Gray the Ninelives is portrayed as an enormous and heavy mecha, likely controlled by someone inside.
