Gotou serves as the manager of the Zoldyck family. Any contact with the family members must be routed through him. An enigmatic and intimidating figure, Killua once confided in Gon about his recurring nightmares of Gotou chasing him with a knife. Gotou is also exceptionally skilled at the "where is the coin" trick. He cares for Killua as if he were his own son.
During the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc, Gotou is killed in a confrontation with Hisoka while pursuing Killua and Alluka.
