Ganon is portrayed as the ultimate manifestation of pure evil and hatred. His character varies from a savage beast to a Machiavellian tyrant, and even to a godlike being, sometimes within a single narrative. According to the real-life nonfiction book Hyrule Historia, Ganon's hatred is so potent that it allows him to survive even after his body has been completely annihilated, remaining conscious. Ganondorf exhibits extreme arrogance, perceiving himself as utterly invincible. This belief leads him to underestimate all threats, often engaging in battles with minimal effort. Consequently, Ganondorf is frequently in disbelief when he faces defeat.
Ganon is a powerful sorcerer, utilizing magic for both offensive purposes and shapeshifting. He also possesses considerable skill as a swordsman, capable of dueling with Link. Despite his imposing size, Ganondorf demonstrates remarkable agility, adept at dodging not only sword strikes but arrows as well.
