gabo

Ruff is a small, young boy characterized by his long, unkempt black hair and a noticeable missing front tooth. He dresses in a simple yet distinctive manner: bare-chested with a blue cloth draped like a cape, sackcloth shorts secured by a rope, and a sackcloth bandana over his messy hair. In the 3DS remake, Ruff's adoptive wolf mother accompanies him, and he rides on her back. Her appearance shifts alongside Ruff's when his Vocation changes. Initially, Ruff cannot communicate because he was once a white wolf. A spell cast by Hackrobat enables him to speak, and Maribel remarks that he becomes "quite the talker." Ruff retains traits from his time as a White Wolf, such as agility and heightened senses. He is an exceptionally fast runner and can bite enemies to paralyze them, although this ability is only shown after battling Hackrobat. Ruff has a constant craving for food and often asks the Hero for something to eat. He also loves competition and fighting, always seeking opportunities to prove himself. Ruff struggles with understanding complex human behaviors like courtship and tact. During the quest in Greenthumb Gardens, he expresses confusion about Carraway and Lavender's relationship. At Alltrades Abbey, he questions Eustace about why legs are so short. Additionally, Ruff seems to have a crush on Jacqueline, feeling disheartened when the party returns to the present and finds an old man in her place at the abbey.
