A member of the Ala Rubra, very little is known about him. He appears as a calm, collected, sarcastic, and extremely skilled warrior, excelling in unarmed combat and counter magic. Interestingly, Nagi refers to him as "master," despite appearing older and more powerful.
He fought alongside Nagi against the Mage of the Beginning, the Supreme Ruler of Cosmo Entelecheia, and was never seen or heard from after that battle. In recent flashbacks, he is seen talking to Nagi right after they defeated the Mage of the Beginning. He reveals that he lived for 2600 years, which he describes as "2600" years of torment.
He asks Nagi if the world is really worth risking his life for and states that mankind is beyond salvation. However, he mentions that his torments have finally ended before vanishing into dust. His mysterious death right after the defeat of the Mage of the Beginning and his last words, similar to the Mage's speech to Nagi, suggest some sort of link between them.
Many fans believe he may be linked with Fate Averruncus since his fate after the final battle (and before it) is unknown. From the video Rakan shows, it seems one of the enemies recognized him, suggesting they might have met before. He also bears a resemblance to one of Fate's companions, the young, mystical black mage skilled in barrier magic, the same type of magic Filius Zect seems highly proficient at. However, it remains unclear whether he is a traitor or not.
