Etna was once a vassal to King Krichevskoy before his demise. She initially served Laharl and Flonne, but later sought to claim the throne destined for Laharl, promising to become a capable right-hand to the king. Driven by greed and wielding despotic power over her servants, the Prinnies, she used a large hammer both on them and her adversaries.
By the conclusion of the anime, Etna is granted dominion over the Netherworld and crowned queen by Laharl. However, both she and the Fallen Angel Flonne are utterly stunned when they discover that the new Prinny, whom Etna was about to chastise for laziness, is actually the reincarnated King Laharl himself.
