The young daughter of a viscount, Eleanor falls deeply in love with William. Her affection for him is often intensified by misinterpretations of his polite and considerate behavior. Despite her family's noble status, their financial situation is worsening. Consequently, her father is eager for Eleanor to marry into the wealthier, albeit lower-class, Jones family.
Eleanor is an extremely shy girl who nonetheless makes efforts to attract William's attention. For instance, she invites him to tea parties at her mansion and visits his home under the pretense of admiring blooming roses. Whenever William is near, she becomes incredibly bashful, but eventually, she manages to confess her feelings to him during an opera performance. She is almost always accompanied by her loyal servant Annie, who has been taking care of her since childhood. This bond is illustrated in the fourth volume of the manga, which shows Annie serving Eleanor from a young age.
