E.G. Mine is a violent individual who dons a suit resembling a sphere, equipped with control threads designed for the deployment of lethal spikes. By manipulating these threads, Mine can launch them at adversaries.
In the manga, he emerges as the second member of the Gung-Ho-Guns to confront Vash, brandishing the corpse of the first Gun, Monev the Gale, as a menacing display. Mine is swiftly disarmed when Vash evades his launched spikes and, in one fluid motion, shoots off the straps holding the sphere together.
In the first anime adaptation, he is the third Gun to challenge Vash, showcasing the bodies of both Monev the Gale and Dominique the Cyclops. Subsequently, after being defeated by Vash, he is killed by Rai-Dei the Blade.
In Trigun Stampede, his real name is revealed as Ethan Gilbert. Initially known as E.G. Bomber (E・G・ボマー), he later adopts the moniker E.G. the Mine (E・G・ザ・マイン) following encounters with Willian Conrad and Knives. Now armed with lost technology, he utilizes bombs as his primary weapons.
