Seiichiro's nephew, Saiki Daisuke, is also a wind magician, though not as skilled as Seiichiro. Initially, Saiki and Kamui do not get along well; the stoic and strictly rule-abiding Saiki was not entirely convinced that Kamui was the one on whom the fate of humanity rested. Over time, they come to understand each other better and eventually become friends. Saiki dedicates his life to protecting Hinoto, for whom he seems to have strong feelings.
In the manga, he is brutally decapitated by Fuuma while defending Hinoto. In the anime, however, he meets his end when he is crushed under rubble.
