It was rumored that he could curse his enemies by glaring at them through his weapon, the Daemon Spade's Evil Lens, which resembles the Vongola Mist Owl's Cambio Forma. The term "cursing" likely refers metaphorically to what happened to those he disliked. Additionally, it was said that anyone who was glared at through the Evil Lens would be found dead, floating in the sea the next day. After the death of his lover, Elena, he betrayed Vongola Primo during his reign, deeming him unworthy to continue leading the Vongola.
During Vongola Secondo's rule, Daemon abandoned his physical body and survived for centuries by continuously possessing one body after another. To create his ideal Vongola Family, he orchestrated the battle between Vongola and Shimon in the present time. He also kidnapped Chrome during Tsuna's inheritance ceremony to gain control of Mukuro's body by temporarily possessing Shimon Desert Guardian, Julie Katou. Before Mukuro could take over, Daemon possessed his body and broke out of Vendicare Prison to fight Tsuna and Enma using his newly acquired Flame of Night. However, with the combined efforts of Tsuna and Enma, they managed to defeat Daemon.
