Cologne is considered the great-grandmother of Shampoo. She joins Shampoo on her journey back to Japan and establishes the Cat Café in Furinkan. As a contemporary of Happosai, she is well over a century old. She affectionately refers to Ranma as "bride-groom" and "son-in-law," mainly to provoke him while trying to arrange his marriage to Shampoo.
Cologne is a grandmaster in martial arts and occasionally imparts new techniques to Ranma and his rivals. She moves around by bouncing on a gnarled wooden staff, which she also uses as a weapon. Her mastery of Chinese Amazon martial arts allows her to manipulate water and ice, create whirlwinds by using an opponent's aura against them, shatter objects with a mere touch, and activate pressure points that make someone feel unbearably hot.
