Chris is Leon's much younger brother, born when their mother was fifty. Tragically, she died during childbirth, leaving Chris to be raised by his aunt and uncle, whom he called "Mom" and "Dad." His cousin Sam once told him that he was responsible for his mother's death, which left Chris so shocked that he lost the ability to speak.
Chris was sent to Los Angeles with Leon and spent most of his time in D's pet shop. Although unable to speak, Chris could telepathically communicate with all of D's animals, as well as with the Count and Leon. He held Q-chan in high regard, describing it as "The cutest, rarest, and highest-priced pet in the shop," though interestingly, Chris only saw Q-chan as an animal.
Initially, Chris perceived the animals in their human forms and believed that the Count sold human children. Despite this, he felt comfortable with it as long as the children were content. In Volume 10, Chris reconciled with his cousin, regained his speech, and moved back to live with his aunt. This recovery came at the cost of losing his ability to see the animals in their humanoid forms, referred to as a "Departure from Eden."
Twenty years later, Chris is shown working as an FBI officer, tasked with tracking down the next generation of the Count's family. Chris was introduced in volume 5, chapter 2.
